POETRY

My poetry is often either straight-up or metaphorical, and I'm usually satisfied with the works with little-to-no editing. Some, but not all, of my work contains adult language and/or content, but has been censored for this site. FEATURED POEM

Love For a Friend

My love is strong;

my friendship real.

I care about

the way you feel.

If I can help

in any way

you know you have

a place to stay.

Just realize

that I’m your friend;

I’ll never judge.

My love won’t end.

I’ll be here for

you every day.

So please do not

just run away.

And if you do,

know that I’m here

when you decide

to reappear.

STORIES

Ever since I can remember, I have loved to write, and although poetry flows more freely and more often from my fingertips, I am not exclusively a Poet. Currently, I am working on my first novel, Nowhere, which started as a simple story and has since evolved—over the last 5+ years—into a project of epic proportions. There is no tenative date for the completion of this project, which will be penned under—simply—Koda. There are several other ideas for novels and/or series to be worked on once I've tackled this monster, and endless drafts and notes accumulating in tons of stories. The simple fact is—for me—pushing out a story just doesn't come as easily as does the effortlessly communicated Poem.

This is not to say that I do not enjoy writing stories. Under my pseudonym K. Michael, I already have two horror stories available, and have started a serial novel The Complex, a science fiction thriller of which the prelude is available as a short story: The Patient. More publications under K. Michael coming soon, and short stories written as Koda are in the works, but none have a tenative release date yet.

Besides these projects, I am also working on a children's chapter-book for kids ages 7-12, entitled Flurious, which which will be the first in a series of young readers' thrillers I'm calling Elementary Nightmares. Before having children, it had never occured to me that I might want to write children's books, but I stumbled upon the idea when trying to think of interesting and relevant "scary" stories for my second-grade boy to read. As a child, I always enjoyed R.L. Stine's Goosebumps and Fear Street collections above all, and being strapped for cash, thought: I could write something like that for Ethan, and tailor it to fit both his personality and current school-time experiences! And so far, he likes the story. When it is finished, I will make it available under the pen name Uncle K.

The reason for all the pseudonyms is solely to keep my audience/s aware of the difference between the MANY different styles and content that I will be publishing. I look forward to sharing my work with all of you, as it has all been 20+ years in the making!
